Within the context of Islam, students will gain a basic grasp of various mental health issues and the psychological strategy needed to assist those who are experiencing them. Additionally, the course equips students with the skills necessary to mentor and coach others, allowing them to better meet the spiritual and psychological needs of individuals in different communities.
The course’s main goals and objectives are to:
- Name and explain the Islamic concept of the self.
- In Western psychology, distinguish between universal and culturally related elements.
- Explain the therapeutic alliance from an Islamic point of view.
- Gain expertise in counseling within an Islamic context to assist those experiencing psychological difficulties.
- Understand how black magic and Jinn disruption relate to psychological suffering.
- Using case studies, learn Islamic psychological principles for assisting people in need.
